.

Well, the deadline has passed…and not a peep from the 21 fake so-called “independents” listed below (you’ll see 22 names but, as explained within, 1 withdrew).

Please delete the previous post (at the top of the main page) and replace it with the following:

After giving 21 “former” CORRUPT party candidates (mostly BC United, with a couple of BC Conservatives) a 48-hour window of opportunity to commit to — IF THEY’RE ELECTED (based mostly on face/name recognition…and virtually zero on the fact that they’re “independent” — 1)  NOT cross the floor and either return to their old CORRUPT party or, if they’re sufficiently disgruntled with that one, then a different CORRUPT party and  2)  NOT consistently vote with either their old CORRUPT party or a different CORRUPT party, ALL I’VE HEARD IS CRICKETS!

Therefore it’s OFFICIAL:  ALL OF THE FOLLOWING so-called “independent” candidates — after watering down/sullying/bastardizing the REAL INDEPENDENT MOVEMENT — are fakes/frauds.  So much for “accountability” and “transparency”!

Cindy Wu, Richmond – Queensborough

Meiling Chia, Burnaby South – Metrotown

Daniel Kofi Ampong,  Burnaby – New Westminster

Eden “the independent socialist” Haythornthwaite, Cowichan Valley

Tracy St Claire, Penticton – Summerland

Rachael “I’m a true Conservative” Weber, Prince George – Mackenzie

Coralee Oakes, Prince George – North Cariboo

Wendy Yuan, Richmond Centre

Jackie Lee, Richmond – Steveston

Greg McCune, Salmon Arm – Shuswap

Kevin Acton, Vernon – Lumby

Shelley Jan, “former?” Conservative, Langley – Abbotsford (who has, apparently, withdrawn)

Stephen “former? BC United” Johnston

Jon Coleman, Cowichan Valley

Michael Humer, Kelowna Centre

Ashley Ramsay, Kelowna – Mission

Tom Shypitka, Kootenay – Rockies

Karen Long, Langley – Abbotsford

Dan Davies, Peace River North

Mike Bernier, Peace River South

Glynnis Hoi Sum Chan, Richmond – Bridgeport

Japreet Lehal, Surrey – Newton

Again, all of the above are FAKE AND FRAUDULENT so-called “independents”…and for that reason alone, I strongly discourage anyone from voting for them!  Notwithstanding my comments about ALL of the main$tream political partie$ being CORRUPT, the above 22 individuals have no right whatsoever to steal even just one vote…first and foremost, from any REAL INDEPENDENT…but also from any of the parties.

THANX!!!

Errol

Subject: A pledge/promise for/from “independent” candidates.

“ATTENTION:  Meiling Chia, Daniel Kofi Ampong, Eden Haythornthwaite, Tracy St Claire, Rachael Weber, Coralee Oakes, Wendy Yuan, Jackie Lee, Greg McCune and Kevin Acton!”

Of the 20 candidates listed below (3 in the “NOTE”, plus 17), you are the only ones I could find e-mail addresses for.  If you have any contact info for any of the following candidates — Jon Coleman, Michael Humer, Ashley Ramsay, Tom Shypitka, Karen Long, Dan Davies, Mike Bernier, Glynnis Hoi Sum Chan, Japreet Lehal and Stephen Johnston — please forward this email to them.  Thank you!

Prior to August 28, 2024 —the day Kevin Falcon folded the corrupt BC Liberal/United party — when I heard “INDEPENDENT MLA candidate” (bearing in mind that, while not officially registered at that point, I was, and still am, extremely committed and dedicated to running as a true INDEPENDENT in the upcoming provincial election), I thought of myself and about a dozen other INDEPENDENTS throughout the province as AWAKE FREEDOM FIGHTERS (to one degree or another) and/or others who were simply fed up with all of the CORRUPTION in ALL of the main$tream partie$.

Within a couple of weeks of Aug 28, there was (and still is) a grand total of 54independents — a more than 4-fold (pardon the pun) increase — including so-called “unaffiliated” candidates, one “independent socialist”, one who describes herself as a “true conservative” and yet another who…well, I’ll let the first few lines of a Sep 6, 24 Kelowna Capital News story about Stephen Johnston explain it:

If he were to be given an offer to join the BC Conservatives, he would accept.

However, eight days on Stephen Johnston’s phone hasn’t rang.

So, on Sept. 5, the West Kelowna City Councillor and former MLA candidate for the BC United announced that he will continue to fight for a seat in the legislature in the upcoming provincial election, as anunaffiliated contender.   (emphasis added throughout)

How’s that for “covering all the bases”, as it were?

The very definition of the word “INDEPENDENT” has been watered down, sullied and, if I may be so bold, bastardized/corrupted…and for that reason (and given the ever-increasing rate at which MLAs “cross the floor”, switch party allegiances and/or run as “independents”, most often because it’s politically expedient and in their $elfi$h $elf-intere$t$ to do so), I’ve created a “pledge” that I want the following individuals to sign by noon on Thursday, October 17, 2024:

NOTE:  Except for  1)  Eden Haythornthwaite, self-described “Independent Socialist” in Cowichan Valley,  2)  Shelley Jan, “former?” Conservative, Langley – Abbotsford (who has, apparently, withdrawn),  3)  Rachael “I’m a true Conservative” Weber, in Prince George – Mackenzie and Stephen “former? BC United” Johnston (see Kelowna Capital New story, above), all of the following “independents” are “former?” BC United MLAs/candidates:

Meiling Chia, Burnaby South – Metrotown

Daniel Kofi Ampong, Burnaby – New Westminster

Jon Coleman, Cowichan Valley

Michael Humer, Kelowna Centre

Ashley Ramsay, Kelowna – Mission

Tom Shypitka, Kootenay – Rockies

Karen Long, Langley – Abbotsford

Dan Davies, Peace River North

Mike Bernier, Peace River South

Tracy St Claire, Penticton – Summerland

Coralee Oakes, Prince George, North Cariboo

Wendy Yuan, Richmond Centre

Glynnis Hoi Sum Chan, Richmond – Bridgeport

Jackie Lee, Richmond Steveston

Greg McCune, Salmon Arm – Shuswap

Japreet Lehal, Surrey – Newton

Kevin Acton, Vernon – Lumby

And here’s the straight-forward, simple and not-at-all-unreasonable pledge:

I, (NAME, printed), Independent candidate for (RIDING, printed) promise that, over the term of the next BC provincial government (up to 4 years), I WILL NOT  1)  cross the floor and rejoin my previous party or any other BC mainstream party (NDP, Liberal/United, Conservative, Green, etc) and/or  2)  consistently vote with my previous party or any other BC mainstream party, as listed above.

Please send completed pledges to  errolp@hotmail.com  by 1200 (noon) on Thursday, October 17, 2024.  If any candidates do not return completed pledges to me by the above deadline, I will, very publicly, call them out as “FAKE Independents”…and strongly urge British Columbians to NOT vote for them.

I’ve heard the words “accountability” and “transparency” at least a million times over the last few weeks.  Hey, there’s an idea:  Let’s just call it, “The Accountability & Transparency Pledge”.

I truly look forward to receiving 20 completed pledges over the next 46 hours.

Richmond independent MLA candidates challenge big party politics

Errol Povah, Dickens Cheung, and BC Green candidate Tamás Revóczi are bringing contrasting propositions to Richmond’s table

[/writers/adamcampbell]Adam CampbellSep 20, 2024 4:00 PM

With the election around the corner, independent candidates in Richmond are challenging mainstream parties.

Following a BC United announcement at the end of August that the party was suspending its campaign, Richmond-Steveston candidate Jackie Lee and Richmond Centre candidate Wendy Yuan, who were the BC United candidates, both said they plan to run as unaffiliated candidates.

They will join two other individuals running without party affiliation in Richmond.

This includes Dickens Cheung for Richmond Centre and Errol E. Povah for Richmond-Queensborough.

Another candidate who’s declared he’s running is Tamás Revóczi, the candidate for the BC Greens in Richmond-Bridgeport.

Revóczi, is included in the party’s platform, but has not been added to the Elections BC candidate list as of yet.

According to his website, Revóczi said he’s dedicated to environmental stewardship and social justice, advocating for physical and mental fitness through sport.

He is focusing on sustainable development, improved public transport and support for families and small businesses.

“If elected, Tamás aims to bring his passion for community engagement and consensus-building to the role, advocating for a healthier, greener, more inclusive British Columbia,” added his platform.

Independent MLA candidate for Richmond-Queensborough, Errol Povah, is calling for an end to “woke policies” and wants tax reductions and a reconstruction of B.C.’s healthcare system, according to his website.

The site states SOGI is a UN-sponsored agenda that has excluded 95 per cent of the population, forcing children as young as five years old to learn about gender ideology and to consider if they were born in the wrong body.

“Educational standards have to be raised and children belong to their parents, not to the government.”

Cutting the carbon tax, stopping fomenting fear about climate change, and getting rid of extra taxes used to combat the climate crisis. which he says is “fake,” are some of his other propositions.

Lastly, his other priorities are exposing the “COVID scam,” hiring back healthcare workers terminated due to vaccine requirements, and reducing wait times in health centres.

Independent MLA candidate for Richmond Centre, Dickens Cheung, strongly focuses on public safety, calling on those who are concerned over crime and the proposition of a safe injection site, according to his social media.

“Are you feeling that your voices are being ignored by the current BC NDP Government? It’s time to stop the skyrocketing inflation and housing unaffordability,” it adds.

Cheung said he prides himself for being an independent voice for the people of Richmond Centre, saying he doesn’t answer to any political party and has no significant financial interests backing his campaign.

A 13-year-old dies in a homeless camp in Abbotsford. In Canada, children cannot buy alcohol or marijuana, but they can get free government-subsidized crack pipes, drug needles, and naloxone kits. This 13-year-old’s death should never have happened and Fraser Health is responsible! Say, “YES” to drug treatment and prevention, NOT government-subsidized drugs and paraphernalia!
