Errol Povah

INDEPENDENT MLA

The corruption has been going on for far too long and people need to wake up and take back their province one vote at a time!

Community involvement and activism:

Errol has been a volunteer and activist for most of his life. A few of the issues he’s been involved with include anti-tobacco and anti-fish farming. More recently, he has been spreading awareness about the COVID scam, legal fentanyl distribution to children and SOGI (sexual orientation gender identity) resources that sexualize and indoctrinate our children.

Roughly halfway through his BC Ferries career, he joined Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ( www.seashepherd.org ) and served as Second Officer aboard the Sam Simon for Operation Relentless, to shut down the illegal Japanese whaling fleet in Antarctica. In 1977, Errol was one of the founding members and volunteers with the Nanaimo branch of Victim Services and also worked as a cell guard at both the Nanaimo RCMP detachment and the Provincial Courthouse.

Errol has been a proud member of the Vancouver Society in Support of the Democratic Movement ( www.vssdm.org ) for nearly 35 years and has participated in dozens of protests including at the Chinese Consulate in Vancouver, BC.

Until 2020, Errol thought that he could achieve more “on the outside” but since then, has become more and more convinced that the work also needs to be done “on the inside.”

Life Experience:

Errol was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC, until he proudly joined the Royal Canadian Navy, continuing a military tradition in his family; his grandfather served in the Canadian Army in World War I, and his father served in both the Army and the RCN in WW II.

After training in Cornwallis, NS, Errol returned to Esquimalt, BC, where he served aboard the Destroyer Escort HMCS Mackenzie before his long-term posting aboard HMCS Yukon as a Radio operator. In 1978, Errol began what would become a 30-year career at B.C. Ferries where he finally retired in 2008 as a Second (Navigating) Officer.

Championing education:

Errol has protested outside many School Board offices, City Halls, the BC Legislature and the House of Commons. He is keenly aware of what is going on in the education system and when becoming MLA, intends to re-evaluate the education system and to encourage shutting down all DEI programs, SOGI and other ideologically driven propaganda in all our public schools.  Errol says parents and their rights over their children are a number one priority. Big government does not own our children!

He strongly believes education is the conduit to a strong economic future for BC and our children.  He believes our education system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt so our kids can become the number one priority and get the best education possible without indoctrination.  Errol simply wants to take making the world a better place to the next level and believes a position as MLA would give him the power to make positive changes for our province.
